Elizabeth “Liz” Owusu is a first-generation Ghanaian American, entrepreneur, and proud single mother of two. As the founder of Liz Loves Hair LLC, she has spent over a decade building a thriving business while fostering a strong sense of community in Brooklyn. Known for her resilience, warmth, and dedication, Liz has created a space where people feel seen, valued, and empowered.

Pre Poo
Pre-poo (short for “pre-shampoo”) is a treatment applied to the hair before shampooing to protect it from moisture loss, breakage, and dryness. It’s especially beneficial for curly, coily, and textured hair, which tends to be more prone to dryness.

Detangling
Detangling natural hair is the process of gently removing knots and tangles to prevent breakage and maintain healthy hair. Because natural hair, especially curly and coily textures, is more prone to tangling, detangling must be done with care to avoid damage.

Customized shampoos
Customized shampoos are tailored formulations designed to meet a client’s specific hair needs, addressing concerns such as moisture retention, scalp health, color protection, and damage repair. In a salon setting, a stylist can curate shampoo blends.

Blow Dry
Hair styling technique that uses a blow dryer and brushes to dry and shape the hair. It creates a smooth, voluminous, or sleek finish depending on the technique and tools used.

Cocktail conditioners
Cocktail conditioners is the process of mixing different conditioners or adding specific ingredients to customize treatments based on a client’s unique hair needs. This technique allows for targeted hydration, strengthening, and scalp care, making it a valuable service in a salon setting.

Steam Treatment
Our steam treatment consists of a deep-conditioning process that uses steam to open the hair cuticle, allowing moisture and nutrients to penetrate the hair shaft more effectively. This treatment is especially beneficial for natural, curly, and coily hair, which tends to be more prone to dryness.
